Art in Island: The Media Square museum in Quezon City (2023) (2024)

NOTE: Updated April 2023

Typical museums in the country only appeal to history buffs and art enthusiasts. Visitors are expected to just look at artwork hanging on walls or stare at artifacts behind glass cases, learn historical facts, and that’s it. In most museums, photography isn’t even allowed, leaving visitors with no visual proof of their visit.

I first visited this place during Microtel’s media tour around Quezon City while staying at Microtel Acropolis and found myself going back with my family a few weeks later to share the fun when it as still relatively new. When it first opened in December 2014, it used to be a traditional museum with painted 3D paintings.
