Congestion Charge - Deadline Couriers (2024)

This week TFL and the London Mayor, Sadiq Khan, have confirmed the temporary changes to the congestion charge. These changes have been bought forward in accordance with TFL’s funding agreement with the government.

From the 22nd June 2020, the congestion charge for London will increase to £15, operating 07:00 – 22:00 for seven days a week.

TFL have said ‘If traffic is allowed to continue to grow, roads will become unusably congested. Analysis indicates that as the government further eases lockdown restrictions, if those who would have used public transport instead choose to drive, car traffic levels in central London could double without any changes to the congestion charge.’

At Deadline the congestion charge will increase to £15.00 for a same day job going into a congestion zone postcode. For the overnight service going into a congestion zone postcode the additional charge will be £1.00.

The congestion zone covers the following postcode area:
EC1, EC2, EC3, EC4, SE1, SW1, W1, WC1 and WC2.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has said ‘Coronavirus continues to present our city with unprecedented challenges but I am determined to ensure that we emerge from this pandemic with a cleaner, greener and more sustainable transport system.’
