Why was Dwiz killed? ›

D-Wiz was a basketball player for the South Jamaica's team. D-Wiz's death was required for Raq's crew to have peace with Unique's crew on the streets. It was to payback for Buck Twenty's death.

Kanan assigns Shawn to kill Ghost for betraying him, and when Shawn fails because Ghost sweet-talks him, Kanan contemptuously tells Shawn that he's just been using him, before shooting him, telling him that he's stupid, weak and doesn't deserve to be Kanan's son, and putting a bullet in his head.

The finale saw the Thomas clan kill both Howard (Omar Epps) and Ronnie (Grantham Coleman), but the reveal came at the end that Unique (Joey Bada$$) was in on all of this and also still alive.

Are Tommy and Ghost in Raising Kanan? ›

Franchise fans who were hoping to get to know young versions of Ghost and Tommy in the Power prequel Book III: Raising Kanan will have to keep dreaming. This story takes place after the characters' bedtimes.

Kanan is Ghost's former boss and mentor. He has been in prison for years because of a sketchy drug charge. He had once taken both Tommy and Ghost under his wing years ago and taught both of them everything they know.

Also, 50 Cent's involvement makes it easy to assume the show is based on his well-documented past dealing drugs in Jamaica, Queens. While Power isn't about 50 Cent, series creator Courtney A. Kemp revealed that the character of Ghost was based partially on the rapper, but also on that of her own father.
