It seems that some of the nine titans can harden their body (plus the wall titans). However, I noticed a difference in their durability and hardness. So, I created a kind of classification of titan crystals (roughly like Mohs scale).

We'll find out how hard is the hardening of these titans:

- Armored Titan

- Attack Titan

- Female Titan

- Beast Titan

- War Hammer Titan

- Jaw Titan

- Colossus (Wall) Titans

As for Founding, Cart and Colossal, we haven't seen their hardening power (or if they can even harden at all).

First, the armored titan. The ultrahard steel cannot damage the armor. It can withstand some thunder spears, but it will eventually destroyed. The anti-titan artillery also able to shatter the armor.

Then, compare it with attack titan:

with its hardened fists, the attack titan heavily damaged the armored titan. Its hardening seems to be stronger than armored's. Moreover, it can stop the anti-titan artillery projectile while suffering just a little damage.

We see: Attack > Armored

Then, the warhammer. During its the fight with the attack titan, it seems that it has 2 different class of crystal:

-The first one is the one that made up the spikes. Attack's hardened fist is able to destroy it.

-The second one is the hammer and the crystal that encase Tybur. The hammer is able to cut through Eren's hardening easily, and the thunder spear doesn't even made a scratch to Tybur's crystal.

Results:

War Hammer spikes ≈ Attack

War Hammer hammer > Attack

Then, the jaw titan. As far as we know, its hardening ability is limited. In the war of Marley, Levi successfully sliced through its hardened jaw.

So:

Armored > Ultrahard Steel

Jaw < Ultrahard Steel

And so Armored > Jaw.

With those informations, I built the scale:

Hardening level 0: No hardening. Just a titan flesh. ultrahard steel can easily slice through.

Hardening level 1: Light hardening. Improved defense, but with force, ultrahard steel can still pierce through.

Hardening level 2: Plate hardening. Ultrahard steel can't damage this type of hardening, but it's vulnerable to thunder spear and anti-titan artillery.

Hardening level 3: Crystalline hardening. Invulnerable to ultrahard steel, resistant (but not immune) to anti-titan artillery and possibly also thunder spear.

Hardening level 4: Pure crystallization. Virtually indestructible with current technology.

How about the other titans?

Female Titan: Eren mentioned that Tybur's crystal is similar to Annie's, so it's around level 3-4.

Beast Titan: Zeke defeated Reiner easily, shattered his titan armor. Its hardening maybe at Eren's class.

Colossus (The Wall): The walls don't seem to be very strong, Annie and Zeke is able to damage it with no effort. Knowing that Zeke needed more power to shatter Reiner's armor, I assume it's around level 1-2. I'm not sure, though.

Here's the results:

Level 0: Pure Titans (can't harden)

Level 1: Jaw Titan, Wall Titans

Level 2: Armored Titan

Level 3: Attack Titan, Beast Titan

Level 4: Female Titan, War Hammer Titan
