The list features seven solo artists and two groups. The Beatles, unsurprisingly, lead the way with arecord20 No. 1s, all earned between 1964 and 1970. The Fab Four also scored 34 top 10s(second only to Madonna’s 38), hitting No. 1 in over half their visits to the top 10.

Notably missing from the list is Elvis Presley, who, in the Hot 100 era, scored seven No. 1s.The start ofPresley’scareer predated the Hot 100, which launched on Aug. 4, 1958, meaningthatsome of hisclassics, such as“Don’t Be Cruel,” “Hound Dog”and“Jailhouse Rock,” preceded thechart’s existence. He did, however, reach the summit with“A Big Hunk O’Love,”“Stuckon You,”“It’s Now or Never,”“Are You LonesomeTonight,”“Surrender,”“Good Luck Charm”and“Suspicious Minds.”
