Lauren Goodger on brutal impact of baby’s death- ‘I didn’t eat and lost 3 stone’ (2024)

Reality star Lauren Goodger has exclusively revealed that she lost three stone in weight last year following the tragic death of her newborn daughter.

The former TOWIE regular, 36, told us that the stress she suffered after losing baby Lorena left her unable to eat.

But she has regained a stone after giving her diet an overhaul and admits that her mental health is now much better.

She said: “I lost nearly three stone after I lost Lorena because of the stress. I didn’t eat. I’m now eating again and I’ve put a stone back on because I’m being more healthy.

“I stayed indoors and I didn’t go out, and now I feel I’m in a better place mentally. This year is about focusing on me and getting back on track,” the 36-year-old added.

Lorena, Lauren’s second daughter with her ex, Charles Drury, died on 8 July after being born with the umbilical cord knotted and around her neck.

The tragedy came only days after Lauren’s former partner Jake McLean was killed in a car crash in Turkey.

Then, just weeks later, Lauren and Charles, who began dating in October 2020, split following his arrest after an alleged assault at her Essex home on the night of their daughter’s funeral.

Last week, Lauren attended her first red carpet event since losing Lorena, the Inspiration Awards for Women at The Landmark Hotel, London.

She said she was excited to be at the event, but added she is not yet back to feeling her best.

She explained: “I’ve turned a lot of things down, but I feel like I had to attend this one.

"It’s for a good cause and I’m really grateful to be here. I’m excited and nervous – it’s a weird time for me.”

Lauren went on to say that Larose, her one-year-old daughter with Charles, is her “rock” and “inspiration” and makes her feel a proud mum.

She said: “She’s the best. She’s the cheekiest little girl you will come across.

"She’s already an intelligent and independent woman. She makes me so proud every single day. She’s unbelievable. She’s my rock."

“After everything I went through, Larose is definitely my inspiration. She inspires me and she’s kept me going through the hardest times. Without her, I wouldn’t survive."
