Gateway National Recreation Area Regulations

Launching, landing, or operating an unmanned aircraft (drone) from or on the lands and waters of Gateway is not permitted.

- Only umbrellas with a diameter of 8' that require only one central station to support shade are allowed on the beaches. Small tents designed for infants/toddlers are allowed as long as an infant/toddler is present.
- Class 1, 2 and 3 e-bikes are allowed on routes open to traditional bicycles. Some roads and bike routes may have posted speed limits that are lower than maximum speeds of authorized e-bike classes. Traditional bicycles and e-bikes must adhere to all posted speed limits. E-bikes are not permitted on any trails where traditional bicycles are already banned.
