Riley Saxe-Merchant (2024)

Riley Saxe-Merchant is a minor character in the Power Universe, serving as a minor antagonist in Power Book II: Ghost. She is Cooper Saxe's niece. She first appears with the cops after she was busted for possession of marijuana. Rather than telling her parents, Saxe had her track down Tariq to help his murder case. She then met Brayden and the two dated until Brayden broke-up with her for lying to him and drugging his bestfriend.

She serves as a supporting antagonist in season 1 and a mentioned character in season 2.

Power Book II:Ghost[]

Season 1[]

Riley was arrested offscreen for weed and was brought to Cooper Saxe who tasked her in spying on Tariq and figuring out how he pays for Tasha’s trial. During this time, she tries to talk to Tariq but he rebruffs her and she turns her attention to Brayden Weston who falls for her. After he fights for her, Riley and Brayden become a couple and spend time together. She helps Brayden to arrange Tariq’s 18 birthday party and plans to drug Brayden to get info on Tariq however Tariq drinks the cup and is drugged. She sees Lauren Baldwin leaves so she enters the room to see Tariq passed out. She takes Tariq phone and adds location in Tariq’s phone so she can track him. After Tariq leaves campus alone, she calls Saxe to let him know that she f*cked up and gives Tariq location to him. After Brayden is kidnapped by Cane Tejada, Riley is caught snooping around the room by Tariq who tells her to use her phone to call Brayden. She does until she sees his phone there and Tariq quickly finds out that He was kidnapped who orders her to leave. She denies leaving so is forced to stay with each other. Moments later, Brayden returns and both of them leaves. Days later, Tariq finds out that Riley is Cooper’s niece and lies to Brayden that Riley tried to sleep with him but Brayden doesn’t believe him so he questions her and she denies sleeping with him but doesn’t tell him why she was there. Brayden breaks up with her. She later appears in court where Both she and Tariq exchange looks until he is called to testify. Tariq exposes Saxe, Davis and Tiley and the case is dropped. The next day, She sees Brayden and runs up to him to apologise but tells him to be careful of Tariq and that he is dangerous. Brayden tells her that she f*cked up their relationship and leaves.

Season 2[]

She is nowhere to be seen on campus but is mentioned at the end of season 2 when Tariq tells Saxe that he was with Riley when Brayden and Trace Weston got kidnapped by Cane and forced to sell drugs in Queens. Saxe reveals to Davis and Tariq that he is not in contact with Riley and can’t be put on the stand.

Trivia[]

• It is unknown if Riley attends Stansfield University
• Because Riley had spiked Tariq's drink, she was responsible for her uncle being forced to resign.
• Its unknown what happened to Riley after the events of the first season as she is nowhere to be seen in Season 2 & 3. It’s unknown how she reacted when Tariq was arrested for murder.
• It’s unknown how she reacted to her uncle Saxe’s death in season 3.
