The 2009 bay stallion Triple Vodka was euthanized on October 27, 2022, due to the complications of colic.
Bred by K.A. Norris and Peters Racing, he was sired by Tres Seis and out of the Stoli mare Newport Lilly.
He made eight career starts, winning five of them, and was twice third. He won his first three career starts, topped by the $400,000 TQHA Sale Futurity (RG2).
He won the Old South Derby as a sophom*ore, and then lit the board in theFirecracker Derby before he retired.
As a sire, he overcame a limb amputation, and he has gotten 232 registered foals, including 68 starters that have earned more than $650,000 on the racetrack. Heis also a successful barrel racing sire.
"'Vodka' taught us all so much since the first day he arrived in our lives," his connections posted on his social media page. "It was a mutual and intense love between him and everyone who crossed his path. He showed incredible trust and perseverance, and a kind of strength that is only seen once in a lifetime. He was so full of life, charisma and confidence. It's hard to put into words just how much he meant to us."
