Yorkshire Vet confirms when next series will start with 2 more in pipeline (2024)
The Yorkshire Vet has become one of the county's most beloved TV series, with the show just reaching the end of its 12th run.
Yet fans will be pleased to know the 13th season will air in Autumn and the smash hit has been recommissioned for series 14 and 15 next year.
Star of the show, Peter Wright delighted fans today at the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate as they saw him helping film Channel 5's Today at the Great Yorkshire Show.
It's on for two days this week, tomorrow and Thursday at 8pm, showing the days highlights and is presented by Yorkshire's very own Anita Rani.
Fans of the vet got chance to not just spot him filming but also had the chance to meet him themselves as he hosted a book signing at the 162nd Yorkshire Show.

Whilst at the showground in Harrogate, the veteran vet even helped judge sheep but he told of how his favourite part of the day was seeing and meeting the fans.
He said: "Judging the sheep was very out of my comfort zone, I'm used to fixing sheep and making them well but not commentating ...I had no tuition and no idea!
"It's lovely to see my fans, they're very loyal fans and I think during lockdown, programmes like the Yorkshire Vet been massive comfort to get back to nature and get back to animals.
"I have a massive belief that animals have a positive impact on our mental health.
The star shared that he had been coming to the Great Yorkshire Show for almost 45 years and was delighted to be able to take part.
He added that one of his favourite parts of speaking with fans is getting to meet the children.
"They go a bit tongue tied but I always tell them: don't be star struck with me.
"Children's attitudes to people they see on TV are lovely."
Speaking of the show, Peter shared: "season 12 is just finishing but 13 will arrive in the autumn and we've just been recommissioned for seasons 14 and 15 next year.
"The viewing figures are great and our fans are very loyal, if we didn't get the views, Channel 5 wouldn't want us, it's as simple as that."
Peter was trained by James Alfred Wight, otherwise known as James Herriott, himself and has been working as a vet for over 40 years.

Both Julian and Peter have moved on from Skeldale Veterinary Centre and have taken up different roles at other practices in the Yorkshire Dales. Julian now runs independent vet practices in Thirsk and Wetherby, while Peter has taken up a role at Grace Lane Vets in Kirkbymoorside.
The Yorkshire Vet is back on Channel 5 and the escapist TV series sees renowned surgeon Peter Wright helping farmers with their beloved animals. He left Skeldale House surgery in 2021 as parts of the job were no longer "economically viable".
There was no job too difficult or too squeamish for Julian and Peter. Julian opened up to the Darlington and Stock Times about the reason why he left the practice and moved on. He said he was not happy with the direction the practice was taking and has since gone on to open an independent practice.

Peter, who now works at Grace Lane Vets in Kirbymoorside, explained the main reason behind his decision to leave was because Skeldale was taken over by Medivet. He said he started out at the Yorkshire practice as just a junior before he eventually became a partner.

Now after working in Boroughbridge and opening an independent vet practice in Wetherby, Mr Norton has returned to open the Thirsk Veterinary Practice in the town with his wife Anne.
Peter has specialised in treating sick or injured farm animals and when Skeldale decided to concentrate on smaller animals, he decided to go elsewhere so that he can continue working with larger breeds.
In 2019, I established a new practice in Wetherby- Sandbeck vets- with old friends. Sandbeck will run alongside Thirsk Veterinary Centre as a sister practice and I'll be splitting my time between the two.
The pair, aged 94 and 72, have been incredibly popular after featuring on Channel 5's The Yorkshire Vet – so much show that the channel has commissioned a new four-part documentary series celebrating the every day lives on the country's oldest working farmers on their Yorkshire farm.
Mike Sinclair, series producer of The Yorkshire Vet at Leeds-based Daisybeck Studios, said: “We investigated various options to allow Christopher to continue narrating the series but it just wasn't possible. "Like Chris, we were all disappointed because his voice is such a recognisable part of show.
