Is everyone born an artist?
Artists are both born and taught, says Nancy Locke, associate professor of art history at Penn State. "There is no question in my mind that artists are born," says Locke. Many artists arrive in the world brimming with passion and natural creativity and become artists after trying other vocations.
Become a Professional Artist
As an artist, you'll always be learning new things, and while you may be born with a natural talent for art, you certainly won't be born a professional artist. The more knowledge you have at your disposal, the better your art will be.
Creativity is not heritable and has no unique genetic basis. At most, twin studies suggest that only about 22% of creative performance is related to the genetics we are born with. This is Nature, and it is the minority. The rest, which is the greater majority, is down to our Nurture.

Just as people are born with a good singing voice, some people have a natural ability to draw realistically. You may have a classmate who can draw things that look just as they do in real life or maybe that's your talent.
Creativity is “technically” inherited, but by everyone. It's more of a common human trait than a gift. In fact, a widely cited study by George Land found that children are born creative but lose their creativity as they transition through life and into adulthood.

How can we say a person is an artist why?

Can creativity be learned by a person?
Chris Bennett, CEO of Wonderschool: Creativity is a skill that can be learned and honed, Bennett argues. Students can hone the skill by creating work, presenting it, and getting feedback, he recommends. “Traveling, going outdoors and having conversations about the things you're creating can also enhance creativity.”
Unlike the common myth however, creativity is not in our DNA, nor is it a talent that few are born or gifted with. According to a study by Dr. George Land and Dr. Beth Jarman, mostly everyone, that is 98% of people to be exact, are born creative geniuses.
As you can see, less than half of people on average (39% in 2012 and 41% in 2016) would describe themselves as creative.

Everyone can make art because everyone has a unique way of looking at the world. And when you express yourself in a focused, meaningful way, that becomes your art. Everyone is an artist in their own way. Maybe it's keeping a journal or writing, drawing, painting, sculpting, or playing an instrument.

Because being an artist requires more than technical skill. It requires an insight and intelligence and curiosity that most people do not possess. It also requires discipline, passion and very hard work. Again, qualities the vast majority of people do not possess.
