Can you use iron on vinyl on acrylic blanks?

How we ironed it: For this project, I used a mini iron. Because plastic can melt, I hit it with heat for only 4-5 seconds at a time. Result: I was so afraid of the plastic melting so I was super careful, but the HTV did stick to the acrylic!
Press the heat transfer vinyl onto the acrylic for 5 seconds at 300 degrees. Open the top place of the heat press and carefully remove the carrier sheet. And ta-da no bubbles in your vinyl! Re-cover the acrylic, now with HTV on it, with the parchment paper and press again for another 5 seconds.

What temperature do you heat acrylic?

Usually vinyl films stick to acrylic like white on rice. But not always. Additives in the acrylic sheet can inhibit adhesion causing failure of the graphics.

We have used Mod Podge (not 'Modge Podge' as I know lots of us call it) successfully for a lot of our projects, including sealing over vinyl, making custom photo canvases, and glittering pretty things. Mod Podge is also non-toxic and generally safe to use with older kids.

Not Enough Pressure
First things first, the most common reason your HTV may not be sticking to your shirt, sweater or whatever else you're applying it to may be because you're not using enough pressure. And pressure is important. Without it, your HTV projects may not be as long lasting as you would like.
If your plastic containers have been hanging out around your house, throw them in the dishwasher or wipe them down with some rubbing alcohol to make sure they are free from any dust or oils. This will help ensure your vinyl sticks well.
Keep in mind that if you want to use both, acrylic paint always needs to be applied beneath oil paint. If you add an oil-based substance (oil paint, oil sticks, etc.) on an acrylic underpainting, you cannot go back and add additional acrylic materials; oil must always be on top.

How to Bond Acrylic? Cyanoacrylate – All grades adhere well to acrylic. Due to acrylics susceptibility, to bond acrylic with cyanoacrylate, it is important to use cyanoacrylate adhesive sparingly. When operators try to wipe excess adhesive outside the joint away it will fog the acrylic.
Can acrylic be ironed?

One of the most useful properties of Plexiglas® acrylic sheet is its thermoformability. Being thermoplastic, it becomes soft and pliable when heated and can then be formed to almost any desired shape.
Hot Press paper will be the smoothest, so that is the one I would recommend for painting with acrylics. The Rough Grain paper will have a rough, bumpy texture, and the Cold Press will be a little bumpy but not as much as the Rough Grain. Those little bumps could get in the way when painting with acrylics.
Set temperature to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Set timer to 60 seconds. Set Pressure at medium.
Can I make my own sublimation blanks?
Yes, it is possible to coat your own sublimation blanks with a polyester coating that can be bought through other vendors or online. For hobby or personal projects, that is a fun way to experiment with items not usually found through vendors.
