Yes, you can jog on the High Line.
Overview. The High Line is open daily, with select measures in place to ensure the safety and comfort of our visitors and park staff. Park-level access is also available at 30th Street at Hudson Yards. If you have mobility concerns, please check the elevator status page before your visit.
Park Entrances:
Access to the High Line is possible via any of the access points listed below: Gansevoort Street and Washington Street (elevator access) 14th Street (elevator access) 16th Street.
The High Line stretches from Gansevoort Street to 34th Street in Chelsea along Tenth Avenue, curving west to Twelfth Avenue around the Hudson Yards development at its northern end. Entrances every few blocks along its length lead up to the park.
The High Line Park is approx. 1.45 miles or 2.33KM and takes about 30min to walk and opened all year 'round including the Winter.
There is nothing to do on the High Line at night except look at views. It,s a park and at some times of year, it isn,t even open that late. Depending on the time of the year you are visiting, the High Line closes anytime from 7PM (winter) and on other times of the year 10:00/11:00 depending on the month.
Density isn't the only reason the High Line is successful and safe, of course. There are limited access points, few escape routes for would-be criminals, and surveillance cameras. Alcohol is banned, and the park is locked down after 11 p.m. But the combination is working.
New York City is retreating indoors, and while plenty of people were still out in the city's parks this weekend, one—the elevated, at times narrow, and frequently crowded High Line—has just closed due to the spread of COVID-19.
Because it's free and doesn't require too much effort, it's definitely worth taking kids on the High Line during your visit to New York City, especially if the weather is nice.

HOW LONG IS THE HIGH LINE? The High Line is approximately 1.45 miles in length (or roughly 2.3 km) from its southernmost entrance at 14th Street to its northernmost entrance at 33rd Street at Hudson Yards.
It's no wonder that the High Line itself, has essentially become a hub for both public art and art installations. Visitors to the park will come across many commissioned art installations, some temporary and others permanent. The linear park is the perfect medium for the expression of contemporary art.
Free docent-led public tours are offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from May to October, and on Wednesdays and Saturdays from November to April. Before the date of your visit, make sure to review park rules below and COVID-related visitor precautions.
Views: Walking along the High Line you can see the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building. You might even see a high flyer through the windows of the Trapeze School New York at 30th Street.
The Amphitheater
One of the best places to sit along the High Line is a series of benches that slopes downward above 1oth Avenue. At the end is a series of windows, allowing a unique birds eye view of the traffic zooming below. On a nice day, you can grab some lunch, grab a seat and relax for awhile, admiring the view.
Once night falls this impression is even greater, as flowers and branches fade into shadow and the lights of New York City shine brightly in the evening sky. It is thanks to the High Line's innovative lighting system that the evening cityscape is visible from the park.
The High Line is one of NYC's most beloved outdoor attractions for tourists and locals alike. Once a railroad track, the elevated walking path now boasts plants, vendors and gorgeous city views. While you can't bike on the High Line, you can use Citi Bike to make the most of your day on Manhattan's west side.
Tickets to Vessel are FREE during the first hour of operation and $10 per person at all other times. Tickets for children age 5 and under are always free. You must arrive during your designated date and timeslot for entry. Maximum of 14 tickets per transaction.
We start with Chelsea Market
If we exit Chelsea Market at the other extreme from which we entered, we leave at 10th Avenue between 15th and 16th Streets. If you go to the right, just at the corner of 16th Street there are stairs and an elevator that give you direct access to the High Line.

Although the Vessel tried to reopen after the third suicide with new measures in place — such as implementing a buddy system, placing mental health signs and resources around the sculpture and adding a $10 admission fee — a fourth suicide still happened, making the need for greater protections far more apparent.

Instead, security will be tripled, and visitors will no longer be allowed to hike up the steps of the Vessel alone. Those who wish to climb the 150-foot spiraling sculpture's tangle of interlocking stairs will be required to enter in pairs or groups.
The sculpture is comprised of 154 interconnecting flights of stairs – that's almost 2,500 individual steps and 80 landings. When we heard that the vertical climb was almost one mile up and another mile back down, we wondered how strenuous the experience would be. The answer? It's not strenuous at all.
It exists today as a 1.45-mile elevated walkway that showcases art, public events, and more than 500 species of plants and trees.

The following are not permitted on the High Line: Smoking.
The Meatpacking District sits roughly between Horatio Street on the south, West 16th Street on the north, the West Side Highway on the west, and Eighth Ave./Hudson Street on the east. The area takes its name from the hundreds of meatpacking plants and slaughterhouses that used to inhabit it.
Does the standard high line have a pool?
The Standard has several bar options, most notable of which is the nightclub Le Bain. In addition to a plunge pool and roof terrace, it has DJ-led music and stellar vistas.
