Monet pulled the trigger before Tariq could even make it up to collect his money from Mecca. Tariq admits he will have to remain in the game longer since he did not get his money.
However, Mecca's plans go awry when Monet fools him into a trap, killing him in his own apartment. She shoots him right in the head, leaving his lifeless body for the police to discover.

Kanan is the twins' [Tariq/Raina's] father, and that's why he all of a sudden wants to help in the Season 4 finale.
Ghost did get the last laugh in the end, like he always seems to — he left no money (nothing!) for Tasha in his will and Tariq only gets his and Raina's part if he finishes college.
