She and John-Boy get married in the next episode "A Walton Wedding". Two years later, in the following episode and the last of the series, "A Walton Easter" Janet is heavily pregnant and eventually gives birth to twins, Jade Walton and Justin Walton, just after John and Olivia Waltons 50th anniversary.
The love of family, for the most part, although the drama certainly had its fair share of romance. Jason marries Toni Hazelton. Mary Ellen gets engaged to David Spencer, but weds Dr. Curtis Willard, who later disappears in Pearl Harbor and changes his name, leading to her second marriage to Jonesy.
John Boy and Daisy get together one evening after her performing at the theatre, and John Boy asks Daisy then to marry him. Although hesitant at first, she accepts.
They now have two children, Katie and Clay, and no explanation is made as to whether medical advances made this possible, the children are adopted, or if Mary Ellen and Jonesy decided to risk it and she was fine during the first pregnancy so they had a second child together.
Lies the small town of Schulyer, Virginia, home of the Hamner family – the real-life family on which the Waltons were based. The mountain town of Schuyler is home to about 400 residents, and there the two-story Hamner family home still stands.
The final episode, titled “The Revel,” aired on June 4, 1981. In the episode, John-Boy goes to New York to pursue his writing career but arrives to find that his manuscript has been rejected. His publisher's secretary gives him enough money to return home and advises him to start a new book. He returned home dejected.
In The Waltons fifth season episode "The First Edition," John-Boy walks with a cane, and what many fans may not realize is that the actor Richard Thomas was acting through a real injury while filming.
James Hamner, 67, the youngest son in a family immortalized by "The Waltons" on television and the model for the character Jim-Bob Walton, died April 1 at his home in Charlottesville. He had emphysema and heart ailments.
