Is the Studio Ghibli museum worth it?
If you're a big Studio Ghibli fan, I'd say it is worth even that. However, if you pay $10/person, the Ghibli Museum is a no-brainer for anyone. You don't need to have ever seen a Studio Ghibli film to appreciate this museum (to be sure, you'll get more out of it if you have).
The building itself I'd give yourself about 1.5-2 hours in and the Cafe it worth waiting for but I would wait before it opens at 11. That takes at least another hour. The Shop also has a lot to look at and buy so give yourself 30 mins or more to explore in there.

The Ghibli Museum is located on Kichijoji Avenue, and it is just a 20-minute walk from the south exit of Mitaka Station, or west exit of Kichijoji Station. A shuttle bus is also available from Mitaka Station, brightly decorated with Ghibli characters. Bus tickets may be purchased at the bus stop vending machine.
