'The Waltons' Cast Members Got Burned Filming the House Fire Episode. One of the iconic episodes of The Waltons sees the family's house burn down. Everyone in the family survives, and it was a responsible stunt sequence on the Warner Brothers lot.
The arsonist in question allegedly splashed a flammable substance on a chicken coop on the set, and the flames spread from there to the home. Overall, the arson caused over $200,000 in damages before studio firefighters could extinguish the flame. The New York Daily News reported John Orr as the arsonist.
In November 1991, a fire on the Warner Bros. lot (reportedly started by a disgruntled employee) destroyed the Waltons home. The Waltons still made three more made-for-TV movies in the 1990s, celebrating Thanksgiving, Easter and the marriage of John-Boy.

How many bedrooms did the Walton house have?
My fictional floor plan for the upstairs of the Walton's home layout features four bedrooms and one bath. I'm still unsure how this large extended family shared one bath but I guess that was normal back in those days. Bedrooms include: master bedroom, the boy's room, John-boy's room and the girl's bedroom.
