What race built the pyramids?
It was the Egyptians who built the pyramids.
These three pyramids were built by Egyptian Kings of the 4th Dynasty: Cheops, who built the Great Pyramid at Giza roughly 4,600 years ago; his son Khafre, whose pyramid tomb is the second at Giza; and Menkaure, who is known primarily for the smallest of the three pyramids.
No one knows exactly how the pyramids were built. Marcus Chown reckons the answer could be 'hanging in the air'. The pyramids of Egypt were built more than three thousand years ago, and no one knows how. The conventional picture is that tens of thousands of slaves dragged stones on sledges.
Nubian pyramids were built by the rulers of the ancient Kush*te kingdoms. The area of the Nile valley known as Nubia, which lies within the north of present-day Sudan, was the site of three Kush*te kingdoms during antiquity. The capital of the first was at Kerma (2500–1500 BCE).
The population of the Nile valley and delta, which are home to the overwhelming majority of Egyptians, forms a fairly hom*ogeneous group whose dominant physical characteristics are the result of the admixture of the indigenous African population with those of Arab ancestry.
Contrary to popular belief, it wasn't slaves who built the pyramids. We know this because archaeologists have located the remains of a purpose-built village for the thousands of workers who built the famous Giza pyramids, nearly 4,500 years ago.
Apparently there were at least 30,000 slaves in Egypt at different times of the nineteenth century, and probably many more. White slaves were brought to Egypt from the eastern coast of the Black Sea and from the Circassian settlements of Anatolia via Istanbul.

Tombs of early Egyptian kings were bench-shaped mounds called mastabas. Around 2780 BCE, King Djoser's architect, Imhotep, built the first pyramid by placing six mastabas, each smaller than the one beneath, in a stack to form a pyramid rising in steps.
Once the stones were dragged across the desert, it's believed that one of a series of ramp options were erected to drag the stones to the top as they built upwards. With sand, workers created either a straight ramp up one side, a spiralling ramp that wrapped around the pyramid or a combination of the two.
Why do we need to protect polar bears?

Who started slavery?
Sumer or Sumeria is still thought to be the birthplace of slavery, which grew out of Sumer into Greece and other parts of ancient Mesopotamia. The Ancient East, specifically China and India, didn't adopt the practice of slavery until much later, as late as the Qin Dynasty in 221 BC.
Weekly food rations -- usually corn meal, lard, some meat, molasses, peas, greens, and flour -- were distributed every Saturday. Vegetable patches or gardens, if permitted by the owner, supplied fresh produce to add to the rations. Morning meals were prepared and consumed at daybreak in the slaves' cabins.
Slavery operated in the first civilizations (such as Sumer in Mesopotamia, which dates back as far as 3500 BCE). Slavery features in the Mesopotamian Code of Hammurabi (c. 1860 BCE), which refers to it as an established institution.

Sudan was once home to the Kingdom of Kush, a rival to Egypt that embraced its neighbour's culture and beliefs. The city of Meroë became its capital, where over 30 kings were buried amid 200 pyramids. In comparison, there are only 118 pyramids in all of Egypt.
Perhaps the most infamous act of destruction at Meroe, however, is attributed to the Italian treasure hunter Giuseppe Ferlini, who in the 1830s destroyed several of the pyramids in a ruthless search for ancient artifacts.
It's certainly true that the Israelite people spent centuries doing construction work for the ancient Egyptians. However, they did not build the pyramids. Instead, they were likely involved in building new cities and other projects within Egypt's vast empire.
The Pyramids

How many people died building the pyramids?
Workers died on average between the age of 30 and 35, compared to between 50 and 60 for members of the nobility. “They literally worked themselves to death,” says Hawass. An army of 36000 anonymous labourers took perhaps 20 years to build the Cheops pyramid before the king died in 2580 BC.
