Can regular people attend New York Fashion Week?
While most of the runway shows for major brands, like Coach and Michael Kors, are by invitation-only for editors, buyers, stylists and other fashion industry players, there are still ways for the general public who are interested in fashion to attend and participate in New York Fashion Week.

It is not always essential to wear the designer's piece when attending the show, but showing up at Miu Miu wearing head to toe Moschino is almost certainly deemed inappropriate. Let's face it, people in fashion do not look like they are the most easy to approach people on this planet.

I would say the majority of people aren't being paid to attend shows. We go because we want to or we're fans of the brand, or work closely with the PR or beauty brands who cover the shows backstage. But compensation, if not paid directly, comes in the form of gifted clothing to wear to the show, car service, etc.

Runway Shows: According to Rodney Harris, the owner of Atlanta-based company Slamm Management, a new fashion model may not be paid at all for their work on a runway. You could earn between $200–$1,000, or, instead of payment, get to keep some clothing from the show.

The question is: Do I need to know how to draw to start a clothing brand? The short direct answer is No, you can start and run a successful brand without knowing how to draw, but for your sake and in the end, for the brand – yes it would help a lot if you could visualize your ideas.
