We were impressed by the flowers outside the conservatory. We enjoyed looking at and photographing the Dahlia Garden. However, after we paid our $7 we went inside the conservatory and saw lots of plants. If you want to see highland, lowland and aquatic plants, this is the place for you.
The Botanical Gardens are FREE for all visitors each morning between 7:30 am to 9 am. Admission is also free on the second Tuesday of each month, and on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.
Entrance Fees. SF residents and veterans are free. Entry is free between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Conservatory Light Show
Enjoy our winter light show, Photosynthesis, beginning 30 minutes after sunset every night. The show is free to the public and is about 30 minutes long. We invite you to bring a picnic to set up on our front lawns as the sun sets.
Extra Living Space and Enhancing the Quality of Your Life
It's estimated that a good quality conservatory can add up to 5% to the value of your home. Prospective purchasers can see the potential instantly. But more than the financial value it can add, a conservatory can actually save you money!
Conservatories (Cons)
Glass takes prominence in a conservatory design and this could compromise your privacy as neighbours and passers-by may be able to get a clear view of what you're doing inside of it.
