What is the best time to visit Ripley's Aquarium?
Worried about crowds? We highly recommend planning your visit outside of our peak hours of 11am to 2pm on weekdays and 11am to 4pm on weekends/holidays.
How long does it take to get through the aquarium? The experience takes approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.

Visit on weekdays. Visit during the off season (September – June 15). October is also a very busy month. Arrive early or Arrive after 4pm.

A great experience, especially on a rainy day! Lots to see- we actually went through twice. The shark tunnel is absolutely amazing and the animals are much closer to you than a regular zoo or aquarium. We bought the pass with 4 additional Ripley attractions and it was well worth it.

The Odditorium consist of 12 themed galleries containing over 500 mind boggling exhibits, oddities and curiosities. How long does it take to tour the Odditorium? Allow at least 45 minutes to an hour (or longer) to tour the Odditorium.

On average it takes our guests 2-2.5 hours to see everything that the aquarium has to offer.
On average, 2-2/12 hours. over a year ago. Plan on an hour and a half to 2 hours. A couple of adults can wander through in an hour or so but if you have kids, it will take longer.

Are there dolphins at Ripley's Aquarium? There is a lot of sea life at the Aquarium marine mammals are not included in the exhibits.
Swimming into the summer season, we are very busy during our peak times which are from 11-2 on weekdays and 10-4 on weekends and through July and August. To avoid crowds, we recommend coming by outside of peak hours and reeling in your tickets online!

Plan Your Visit to Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies
Tickets to the aquarium alone are $39.99/adult, $24.99/ages 6-11, and $9.99/ages 2-5. Ripley's also offers several combination ticket packages where you can visit the aquarium plus one, two, three, etc. attractions.
Healthy adult fish can go for a week or two without feeding. However, young fish don't have the fat stores of adult fish and they cannot go without eating very long. That doesn't mean you should routinely skip feedings, but your fish can safely be left without food over a long holiday weekend.
Should I leave my aquarium light on while on vacation?
First of all, you will probably want to purchase timers for your lights if you don't have your lights on timers already. Set the tank so the lights are on for 6-8 hours a day. This will keep algae down and should keep your aquarium running smoothly.
Both the Vancouver Aquarium and Ripley's stand by their educational and animal welfare efforts. Ripley's points out that it's accredited by the industry-run Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and inspected twice yearly by the OSPCA (the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
