The results are finally in for USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice Awards for the Best Zoos in 2024. Coming in first place this year is Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium in Omaha, Nebraska.

The joint largest zoos in the United States were Disney's Animal Kingdom in Florida and Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in Ohio. Both zoos were 580 acres in size as of December 2019. Disney's Animal Kingdom is the more famous of the two, combining zoo exhibits and theme park rides and shows.

Travel website TripAdvisor ranked the Saint Louis Zoo as the sixth best in the world, and the second best in the U.S., just behind the San Diego Zoo. The ranking is based on reviews from travelers, and is the third time the zoo has placed at the top of the list since it began in 2014, the zoo posted on Facebook.

Naming 275 zoos and aquariums in total, the awards call the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska, the world's best. The San Diego Zoo in California comes in second place. Monterey, California's Monterey Bay Aquarium tops the list of world aquariums.
