Theres a discussion on whether picking Armin Over Erwin was the right choice. I personally think it was the right choice, since there's only 9 scouts left and Leadership is what made Erwin special. What do you guys think?

This is only my opinion. Remember the time where Erwin raised his hand while Levi was trying to inject the serum? Erwin is recalling his childhood memories, raising his hand to ask his father a question. Erwin devoted his life just to prove his father's belief is true. Levi respected Erwin and he doesn't want Erwin suffering anymore so he injected it to Armin because Erwin made the demon himself, so Levi set him free from that "Hell". So, Armin was the right choice.

I think levi made the right choice, if I’m being honest yes erwin was a great leader etc but ) he has suffered enough don’t u think and armin is smart can lead and can make great plans so it’s okay I guess?

The best choice was Erwin, The right choice was Armin. I’m pretty sure we all know why Erwin was the best choice, and that Armin can’t replace him. But what made Armin the right choice is not making Erwin go through the hell that he had been in for so long. But they will be fine, Armin is still a critical and smart mind. He just can’t replicate Erwin’s leadership.

Personally, I would save both of them, but since squad leader Hange found out that Commander Erwin died from his injuries, Eren found out that Armin is still breathing, and you can’t reuse a Titan serum, Captain Levi had to save Armin since he had no other choice.

Armin was the right choice because even though Erwin was a great leader, his entire life's goal was to prove his father's theory. He cared for the Survey Corps, but he was definitely willing to gamble all their lives for this. His only goal was to discover the secrets of the world, and it just so happened to line up with the goal of the Corps. After he had discovered the truth, he would've dwindled to just another background character waiting to be killed off in a Sasha-esque way; meaningless and cruel. Armin has a bright future ahead of him for sure, and yes he can't replace Erwin (except he kinda has lmao), but in the world we're in now, he may be one of the only people with the means and resolve to kill Eren Jaeger. In the long run, Erwin barely meant anything to Eren, and unlike Armin, the former commander would not even have the chance Armin does to stop Eren. Miss you Erwin Dancho :(

I believe Armin was the correct choice because Erwin proved time and again how selfish he was, even stating multiple times he just wanted to see what was in the cellar. Erwins strategies also consisted mostly of gambles that ended up getting a whole lot of people killed whereas Armin came up with many game changing strategies that overall resulted in less deaths. As long as Armin can learn to control his self doubt then he’d make a better leader than Erwin has been in a long time. Also I realize I’m posting this almost two years after the original post date but I’m just rewatching aot since the 4th season is starting to be added to Hulu

I think erwn would have been the better choice because of his leadership and the way that he stays calm under pressure and thinks and analysis's a situation first before jumping into battle like in [ spoilers] season 3 part 2 when the beast titan and armored titan showed up were he first analysis the situation and thought of ways the enemy could get the upper hand against the scout and thought of a plan to counter the plan in just a few second or minutes and the fact that he doesn't make his men do things that he can't he do like he is always the first person to charge into battle leading the way as a leader should and that he can give speeches that will make his men follow him to death which are things that that armin can't do and the fact that he contributed way more to humanity than armin for example saved eren not once but twice first at the court and second from Reiner and recruited the badass levi to the scouts and another fact is that he is willing to sacrifice almost everything just for a piece of info that could possibly help humanity as a whole which is a quality a leader is suppose to have to succeed in battle which are traits that armin doesn't have either way erwin was the best choice and the correct one if you ask me but you know you can't kill armin because his one of the main characters and so he has plot armor
What do you think?
